Borana Lodge is rich in history and design. Borana Lodge is nestled against a lovely hillside with an organic style and panoramic views in the midst of Borana Conservancy, Kenya’s newest and most successful rhino sanctuary. The Dyer family, who founded Borana Lodge, took a deliberate and significant choice in 2007 to devote all residual proceeds from commercial activities on Borana Conservancy to sustaining the rising conservation expenses. The Lodge was founded in 1993 as one of East Africa’s first modest eco-lodges. Since then, it has been the primary economic force that has allowed the Borana Conservancy to protect critical habitat for threatened animals.
At a moment in our history when rhino poaching was at its peak and sanctuaries were shutting, we committed to providing extra safe habitat for rhinos as well as covering all essential conservation expenditures for the foreseeable future. By staying at Borana Lodge, you are directly contributing to conservation, helping us to continue on our really sustainable path, dedicating 100% of profits to ensuring preservation authenticity.
