3 Days Amboseli Introduction

Amboseli National Park is situated on the foothills of the highest mountain in Africa as well as the highest free-standing mountain in the world: the snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the home of the famed Masai people; these tall, proud nomadic warriors have legendary skills in battles, and their single handed acts of bravery in fighting wild animals have spread all over the world. There are over 900 free-ranging African elephants as well as herds of wildebeest and many more animals such as giraffes, elands, monkeys, zebras, hyenas, antelopes and not forgetting the BIG Five – Lion, Leopard, Rhino, and Buffalo.

Amboseli Safari – 3 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli

Pick up from your hotel or airport and drive to Amboseli National Park to arrive in time for lunch. Amboseli National Park is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro which is the second largest mountain in the world. It dominates the landscape and the open plains. Arrive at the lodge for lunch.After a brief rest head out for an afternoon game drive till sunset where you will return to the lodge for rest. The Park is at an altitude of about 1200m – 1400m and beautifully situated beneath the foot of the majestic snowcapped Mt. Kilimanjaro. It has large herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions, and a variety of other animals and birds all of which are attracted to this park due to its permanent supply of water that filters through the volcanic rock from Mt. Kilimanjaro’s melting snow. The park is also home to the Masai people, those tall, brave, and proud nomads who live in close harmony with the environment and the wildlife that surrounds them. Amboseli was the location around which such famous writers like Sir Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark tailored their stories of big game hunting in the wilds of Africa. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge (Lunch & Dinner)

Day 2: Amboseli Full Day

Rise early for an exciting game drive with magnificent views of the snowcapped Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background. Leave with packed breakfast and have a game drive until 10:30 AM. Return to the lodge for rest and lunch. Have another game drive in the afternoon and a visit to Observation Hill to have a panoramic view of the park and its resident wildlife and swamps. In the late afternoon return to the lodge to freshen up. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 3: Amboseli – Nairobi

A dawn game drive will be the perfect time for photographing the humbling and magnificent Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest peak in Africa. We return to the lodge for breakfast and then have an en-route game drive before we head back to Nairobi. Drop off at the airport or at your hotel at around 4:00 PM (Breakfast).
