Day 1: Nairobi-Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Pick up from the airport or your hotel, then transfer to Wilson Airport for the 1000hrs flight to Maasai Mara, over the dramatic landscape and the plains inhabited by Maasai pastoralists, arriving in time for check-in and lunch. Have a short rest, then at 3 pm head out for an afternoon game drive until sunset and return to your camp. Full of life, with a variety of animals and birds, the Maasai Mara crowns every safari in Kenya. Its rolling grasslands and acacia savannah have been captured on film time and again, with the movie “Out of Africa” being the most famous. The climate is gentle, rarely too hot, and well-spread rainfall year-round. Apart from the big five, the Maasai Mara is most famous for the annual migration of over a million wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, etc. from the Serengeti in northern Tanzania, crossing the Mara River into Kenya in search of fresh feeding grounds, which takes place in late July to September. The reserve is also home to great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephants and giraffes, zebras, and thousands of antelopes, impalas, and gazelles. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Mara River, while prides of lions and cheetahs prowl the savannah plains, and over 450 bird species. Day 2-3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Full day in Maasai Mara, where, after breakfast, we collect a packed lunch and depart for a full day game drive. Have lunch at a picnic site near the river. After lunch, proceed with an afternoon game drive to continue spotting wildlife until early evening, when you return to camp to freshen up. The landscape is breathtaking, with a network of roads specifically constructed for game viewing. Certainly, the most frequented game reserve in Kenya, the Maasai Mara, is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries and punctuated by marshes and forests. Day 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve- Serengeti National Park
Early breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for the 0815hrs flight to Migori, where you will be met by the airline shuttle and transferred to the border for immigration formalities. Thereafter, transfer to Tarime airstrip for the 1100hrs flight to Serengeti, where on arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp for check-in and lunch. Have a short rest, then take an afternoon game drive until sunset. The park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, with over 3 million large mammals, unbeaten for its natural beauty and its greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. The Serengeti is home to the world’s largest populations of Wildebeest, Zebra, Cape Eland, Lion, Cheetah, Hyena, and Gazelles. The scenic beauty of the sky with cool nights and warm days makes your visit to this remaining home for the great migration of large mammals incredible. It is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth – the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. The resident population of lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and birds is also impressive. Day 5-6: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast head out with your packed lunch for a full day game drive in the wilderness in search of the big five animals amongst other animals like giraffes, thousands of elands, Topi, kongoni, impala, Grant’s gazelle, Gaudy agama lizards and rock hyraxes’ scuffle around the surfaces of the park’s isolated granite kopjes, not forgetting different species of birds. The climate of the Serengeti National Park is subtropical, with the rainy season from November to April and the dry season from May to October. a world-renowned World Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site with more attractions than any other national park in Africa. The Great Migration, the Big Five, unique bird collections, endangered species, the highest concentration of carnivores and herbivores, and scenic and spectacular landscapes are among the attractions one will encounter. Day 7: Serengeti National Park – Manyara Airstrip-Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the 10 am flight to Manyara, where on arrival you will be met and given lunch boxes, drive to Ngorongoro, and on arrival descend into the crater, where you will spend the rest of the day exploring. The Crater was a huge volcanic mountain, rivaling Mt Kilimanjaro in size. This changed when the top of the mountain collapsed inward, creating the largest volcanic caldera in the world. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area spans vast expanses of highland plains, savanna, savanna woodlands, and forests. In the late afternoon, ascend back and proceed to your lodge to check in, rest, and freshen up for dinner. The Crater was a huge volcanic mountain, rivaling Mt Kilimanjaro in size. The property has global importance for biodiversity conservation due to the presence of globally threatened species, the density of wildlife inhabiting the area, and the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, and other animals into the northern plains. The north of the Crater is, overall, much drier and consists of the open grasslands that characterize the Crater floor; this is where most of the residents’ games are held. Day 8: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Depart
After breakfast and with a packed lunch, depart for Arusha, where your safari ends with a drop off at the Arusha airport for your flight to Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight back home. End of our services (Breakfast, Lunch)
