4 Day Masai Mara Budget Safari – Private Trip at Goshen Mara Camp
This four-day budget Masai Mara safari gives you three nights and two full days in Kenya’s most famous reserve, at a price that keeps the safari within reach. It is a private trip, not a group tour: the vehicle and driver-guide are yours alone, so you set the pace, choose when to stop and how long to stay with a sighting, and travel only with your own party.
You stay at Goshen Mara Camp, a simple, clean and comfortable tented camp outside the reserve. Tents have proper beds with linen, mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets. It is not luxury, but it’s everything you need after a long day on the plains, where lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hippos and huge herds of plains game live year-round.

By road
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara (LD)
Your driver-guide picks you up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport at 7:00 AM. Stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photographs of the escarpment and Mount Longonot, then continue through Narok to the Mara, arriving at Goshen Mara Camp for lunch. In the afternoon, enter the reserve for your first game drive, looking for the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. Dinner and overnight at Goshen Mara Camp.

Day 2: Masai Mara Full Day with Picnic Lunch (FB)
After breakfast, take a packed lunch and spend the whole day in the reserve. A full day lets you reach the far corners of the Mara, such as the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles gather and, from July to October, the migrating wildebeest cross. Stop for a picnic under a shady tree and continue game viewing until late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Goshen Mara Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara Morning and Afternoon Game Drives (FB)
Set out early, when the light is soft and predators are most active, then return to camp for lunch and a rest. Head out again in the late afternoon and stay until sunset. As this is a private safari, you can ask your guide to focus on what matters most to you, whether that’s tracking cheetahs, photographing elephants or birdwatching. You could also add a Maasai village visit today. Dinner and overnight at Goshen Mara Camp.
