Masai Mara Safari – Mara Ashnil Camp Luxury Tented Safari

A 3 days Masai Mara safari by road. This safari will take you through the bustling city of Nairobi. On to the Great Rift Valley View Point and to the worlds best known game reserve. Masai Mara.

Accommodation is in luxury tents that have all the modern amenities including comfortable beds and bed linen. Private hot water shower and flush toilet, electricity in the evenings and early morning to charge your equipment. A lockable safe to store your valuables and a great view of the Mara River where the great wildebeest migration occurs every year.

Game drives (wildlife watching) are done in private 4×4 Land Cruisers that have pop up roofs which allow you to take great photos and have good views of the wildlife. Vehicle is tough but comfortable and will access wildife vewing areas all year round regardless of the terrain.

Safari is led by great tour guides that have over 8 years experience guiding wildlife safaris in Masai Mara. They are able to spot wildlife easily and give you lots of useful and entertaining information about the Masai Mara and the resident wildlife.

Masai Mara Safari itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from the airport or your Nairobi hotel at 7:00 AM. After a short briefing, your driver will pack your luggage in the 4×4 Land Cruiser and head out along the city highways to Limuru where you will have a stop over to see the magnificent and sheer drop of the Rift Valley and its resident mountains including Mount Longonot and Mount Suswa. Drive down the winding escarpment road and on to Narok town where you have a brief bathroom stop over. you can stock up on drinks and snacks here as this is the last major town as you head out to Masai Mara. Drive on through the Narok – Sekanani road arriving at the park at 1 PM. You will arrive at camp for a refreshing welcome drink and check in at your tent. Lunch will be served at the dining mess. Have a short rest before heading out for an afternoon game drive till sunset. Return to camp where you can have dinner and overnight.

Day 2:Have breakfast at camp. You shall have a full day in Masai Mara. Discuss with your driver whether to have a full day game drive with packed lunch at a picnic spot in the park or a morning and an afternoon game drive with a lunch break at camp where you can swim and have a nature walk. Alternative activities include a hot air balloon ride in the early morning and bush breakfast or a visit to a Masai village to interact with the Masai and learn of their culture and way of life. (the Balloon and Masai village visit are optional and at an extra cost). Return to camp where you can have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Have an early morning game drive to spot wildlife as carnivores retire from their night hunts. You will leave Masai Mara in the late morning for Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon. Drop off at your Nairobi hotel or the airport.

– 1 liter per person per day bottled water for use during the safari
