3 Day Masai Mara Safari at Mara Maisha Camp

3 Day Masai Mara Safari at Mara Maisha Camp

This three-day road safari from Nairobi gives you two nights and a full day in the Masai Mara, staying at Mara Maisha Camp near the Talek area. Talek sits close to some of the reserve’s richest game country, where the Talek River meets the open plains, so you spend less time driving and more time watching lions, cheetahs, elephants and the great herds.

Mara Maisha is a modern tented camp of 40 tents raised on platforms, each with an en-suite bathroom and a private veranda, about 4.5 km from Talek Gate. Between drives you can cool off in the pool or relax in the bar and dining area. The Mara has excellent wildlife all year, and from July to October the wildebeest migration arrives from the Serengeti.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara (LD)

Your driver-guide collects you from your Nairobi hotel or the airport at 7:00 AM. Climb out of the city to the edge of the Great Rift Valley, where a viewpoint looks down onto the valley floor and the volcanoes of Mount Longonot and Suswa. Continue to Narok, the last town before the reserve, for a short break, then on to the Mara, arriving at Mara Maisha Camp for lunch. After a rest, set out on your first game drive and stay out until sunset. Dinner and overnight at Mara Maisha Camp.

Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Masai Mara Full Day (FB)

Choose with your guide how to spend the day. You can head out at dawn, return for breakfast, rest by the pool through the heat of the day and go out again in the afternoon, or take a picnic lunch and explore further, down towards the Mara River. Look for lion prides, cheetahs on the open plains, leopards along the wooded river banks, and the elephants, giraffes, topi and zebras that make the Mara so rewarding. If you’d like, add a Maasai village visit to learn about the culture of the people who share this land with the wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Mara Maisha Camp.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi (BL)

Take a final early game drive, or start the day with an optional sunrise balloon flight, then return to camp for breakfast. Game drive out of the reserve and head back to Nairobi, stopping in Narok for lunch. Arrive in the late afternoon and we drop you at your hotel or the airport.
