4 Day Masai Mara Safari at Ashnil Mara Camp
Three nights in the Masai Mara is the length we recommend most often: enough time for a full day with a picnic lunch, slow mornings at sunrise, and the patience to wait at a sighting until something happens. This four-day road safari from Nairobi gives you exactly that, with two full days in the reserve.
Your base is Ashnil Mara Camp, a comfortable tented camp on the banks of the Mara River inside the reserve, with en-suite tents, a swimming pool and hippos grunting in the river at night. Being inside the reserve means you are on the plains within minutes of leaving camp. If you travel between July and October, the river is also where the wildebeest migration makes its famous crossings.

By road
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara (LD)
Leave Nairobi at 7:00 AM with your driver-guide. Stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for the view over the valley floor, then continue through Narok, the last town on the way, to the reserve. Arrive at Ashnil Mara Camp for lunch and a rest, then head out on an afternoon game drive until about 6:30 PM. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp.

Day 2: Masai Mara Full Day with Picnic Lunch (FB)
Take a packed lunch and spend the whole day exploring. Head south towards the Tanzanian border and the open Mara plains, where cheetahs hunt and large herds of topi, zebra and gazelle graze. Between July and October, your guide will follow the migrating herds and look for a river crossing, with crocodiles waiting below the banks. Outside migration season, the day is spent searching for lions, elephants and the reserve’s resident wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara Sunrise and Sunset Drives (FB)
Set out before sunrise to catch predators on the move and the golden light over the plains, then return for a late breakfast. Spend the middle of the day at the pool or on a walk around the camp grounds, or add an optional balloon flight or Maasai village visit. In the late afternoon, go out again until sunset. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp.

Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi (BL)
After breakfast, leave the reserve and drive to Narok for lunch, then continue to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. We drop you at your hotel or the airport.

Prices are in US dollars per person sharing for the full 4-day safari, with exclusive use of the safari vehicle and everything listed under Package Includes. The single supplement is per person, added for a single room; “None” means no supplement in that season. An Easter supplement of US$ 35 per person may apply on 26–29 March 2027, and a Christmas supplement of US$ 40 per person may apply from 24 December 2027 to 1 January 2028.
