Where as the total number of mountain gorillas in the world is estimated to be between 650 to 700 individuals, Uganda's Bwindi impenetrable forest national park boasts of more than a half. Bwindi in east Africa was and has been the main place of seeing these giant apes during Rwanda's troubled years but these days Parc National des Volcanoes is also drawing visitors in numbers again. A minimum of three days are required to visit and track the gorilla. the first day is of driving and the second day is the day of tracking and the third day is for driving again back to Kampala or Entebbe. Its strongly advisable to book gorilla permits several months prior to your visit: There are currently four gorilla families habituated for tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park and these are Mubare(M),Habiyanja(H),Rushegura® and Nkuringo(N)
Only 32 tourists per day are allowed to track gorillas. 24 in Bwindi and 8 in Nkuringo gorillas family on the side of Kisolo.

Day 1: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Depart Kampala in the morning driving south with stops at the craft village at the Uganda Equator for pictures and shopping. After lunch at the Lakeview hotel in Mbarara, proceed through the beautiful evergreen mountain country referred to as the "Little Switzerland". Arrive Bwindi Impenetrable Forest late afternoon/early evening. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp.
Approx Transit time: 8 - 10 hrs
Day 2: Day 1 of Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start a 30 minutes - 8 hours trek to find the Mountain gorillas. The tracking starts at the area where the gorillas were the previous day. After a full hour with the gorillas, return to Gorilla Forest Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Day 2 of Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
With picnic lunch, take a second chance tracking the gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp
Day 4: Lake Mburo National Park
Transfer to Mbarara for lunch before heading into the Lake Mburo National Park for an afternoon game viewing. Game in the park includes Zebra, Impala, Eland, Topi, Hippo and a variety of woodland bird species. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Mburo Tented Camp, situated on a small hill overlooking the lake.

Day 5: Kampala
Another morning game drive in the park until lunch time. Depart after lunch for Kampala. End of services.
