The Historic Swedo House, which was the original hunting lodge/farm house erected between 1906 and 1908, serves as the welcome at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages, Ltd. It’s about a half-mile walk from the Karen Blixen Museum (Bogani House from “Out of Africa”) and a 30-minute drive from downtown Nairobi.
The luxurious hotel cottages were built in 2001 and are located near to the Karen Golf & Country Club, which provides a range of leisure opportunities such as golf, tennis, and squash. Other amenities in the Karen region include shopping, restaurants, and banking services.
There are 13 en-suite homes available, including six one-bedroom cottages, three family cottages, and one honeymoon house. They may be set up as a single, double, or twin.
