NGARE SERIAN

NGARE SERIAN

The Masai word “Ngare” means “by the river,” and the purpose of this cozy little camp was to bring the peace of the original Serian camp to the edge of the water. Ngare Serian is cozy and private, hugging the banks of the Mara. It can only be accessed on foot, crossing a tiny rope bridge. In a way, the crossing is symbolic: it’s a call to let go of time and place and surrender to the location’s inherent attractiveness.

Each marquee is encased in its own private cocoon by boisterous rapids, and bathtubs on elevated decks let you soak in complete isolation. The open-fronted hardwood decks are dominated by four big traditional marquees with enormous luxurious mattresses. Located in the thick shade and surrounded by large groups of laughing hippos who create a definite atmosphere. A gorgeous terrace gives off the vibe of lazy days, and the relaxed atmosphere of the mess makes it clear that there is enough of comfort.
