Cottars Safaris is a portfolio of two transformational hotels in Kenya’s Maasai Mara region that collaborate with the local people to integrate animal conservation with sustainable luxury vacation. We are a fifth-generation family-run safari firm that has been running safaris throughout Africa for over a century. Our own Olderkesi Conservancy, which borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve, is home to our 1920s Camp and Private Bush Villa.
Our aim extends well beyond merely offering a place to stay. As a Long Run member, we follow The Long Run’s 4Cs: Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce, and we are one of just a few dozen Global Ecosphere Retreats in the world. Each visitor immediately helps to the long-term viability of our conservation and social development programs. These include restoring the natural environment to pristine condition, re-establishing and protecting biological variety, anti-poaching, on-site research and rehabilitation programs, healthcare services, and a local preschool.
