KLEIN’S CAMP

KLEIN'S CAMP

Klein’s Camp is a tiny, opulent inn that was once constructed as a hunting camp. It is located in Loliondo on a 10,000 acre private concession area. This land is leased by Klein’s from the Maasai people and is just for the use of visitors who stay here.

The Maasai Mara is to the north and the Serengeti is to the west of the camp, which is located on the rocky slopes of the Kuka Hills. Acacia and desert date trees predominate the undulating hills here, and because of its elevation, it offers breathtaking views of the valley and the forest savanna. Klein’s features a straightforward, functional design. Next to one another, the major dining and bar rooms provide panoramic views of the valley. Although they have been equipped to high standards, they offer a laid-back and pleasant vibe. They are just a short stroll from the rooms, ensuring the maximum amount of peace and quiet.

These public spaces have a colonial African and old English charm feel about them. Down paved steps and a little rough walk, one may access the open-sided sitting room/bar. Despite being big, the furnishings and odd details give the space lots of personality and coziness. It is made of stone and makuti thatch, much like the bedrooms, and the stone flooring are covered with faded carpets. A large, circular firepit with a polished brass flue hanging from the thatched ceiling sits in the center of the space. Elegant velveteen couches and leather armchairs have been intelligently positioned around the space and the fire, keeping them from being too close to one another or impeding the expansive view.
