Kigelia Camp is a well-designed camp located within Ruaha National Park, making it ideal for animal viewing. The area surrounding the camp is rich in wildlife, however due to the black cotton soils, the rainy season closure duration may be longer than at other Ruaha camps. It takes its name from the grove of Kigelia africana sausage trees in which it resides. The camp’s six strategically arranged tents attempt to fit in with the surrounding wilderness, causing as little environmental harm as possible. The tents are well-appointed, with locally produced furnishings and an alfresco hot bucket shower, ensuite bathroom, and flush toilet.
Delicious dishes are served in the small dining tent or beneath a canopy of glittering stars. After a successful day of game viewing, retire to the crackling campfire with your favorite beverage – the ideal time to trade stories about the day’s exploits. Experience the park’s renowned animals on a thrilling game drive or get up up and personal with nature on a walking safari.
