The &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge is ideally positioned on the banks of a branch of the Grumeti River in the remote western regions of the Serengeti National Park, offering stunning vistas and unrivaled sightings.
Due to its remote position, this pristine area of the park has relatively few lodges, making for a private and personal Serengeti safari experience. Enormous lion prides, clans of hyena, large herds of resident plains game, and the unique black-and-white colobus monkeys, seen nowhere else in the Serengeti, are frequently seen during twice-daily game drives leaving from the resort.
The lodge opens to show an understated feeling of luxury by using the natural bow shape of the river and paying respect to the circular shapes of a traditional Maasai manyatta. The lodge is decorated in Kitenge textiles and has stone walls as accents. It also incorporates the brilliant hues of the fishing villages that surround Lake Victoria and the hippo hide’s grey tones, which have been skillfully blended into luxuriously comfortable furnishings and custom-made fixtures.
