Peponi Hotel is a modest luxury beach resort on the secluded island of Lamu in the Indian Ocean off the coast of North Kenya. The Korschen family, who discovered the historic building by happenstance in the 1960s, runs it. The narrative begins during the Korschen family’s final vacation in Malindi; Aage ‘Lemmy’ and Wera Korschen were farmers in inland Kenya before their land was acquired after autonomy. As Kenya was becoming residence for them and their three kids, Lars, Hanne, and Nils, they attempted to locate a suitable alternative employment. However, after a few years and little success, they decided it was time to leave Kenya for Argentina and start a new life there. During his final days, Aage chose to visit a region of the coast he had always wanted to visit: the Lamu Archipelago.
Guests staying at Peponi Hotel have convenience to guest room service and a rooftop patio. In addition, Peponi Hotel has a pool and complimentary breakfast, which will make your Lamu Island trip even more enjoyable.
