You won’t need to pack your wetsuit because Kenya’s year-round warm, tropical temps will allow you to kitesurf in boardshorts. There is a large shallow region at low tide that is suitable for novice and intermediate riders. Advanced riders will find a freeriding paradise with flat water at low tide and waves and kickers on the reef at high tide. While living life on the beach, we are constantly looking for the next adventure. DKC has it all, from full moon sessions to fresh post-kiting coconuts and everything in between.
Two wind seasons exist in Kenya. While the Kusi trade wind originates from the south or south-east, the Kaskazi, a warm north-easterly wind, blows continuously between 18 and 24 knots every day from December to March. The weather is more erratic during the Kuzi season, with violent winds of up to 30 knots or spectacular wave-riding conditions on the reef.
