Crater Forest is a tiny tented camp on a highland coffee plantation at an elevation of 1800 m, near the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area (NCAA). The camp is about a ten-kilometer drive from the major road that connects Karatu with the famed Ngorongoro Crater, and it offers beautiful views of the neighboring hills and coffee farms. Crater Forest Tented Camp is a small scale eco-friendly camp with just 15 large tented cabins, each with its own en-suite bathroom with a hot shower and flush toilet. Every room has an African-style fire pot to keep you warm at night during the cold African winters. The accommodations are all located on extremely elevated platforms with breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater. You may have romantic sundowners on your porch while watching animals, such as elephants, strolling through the lush forest and hearing the lions roar.
