NGORONGORO SAFARI LODGE

NGORONGORO SAFARI LODGE

It is situated in the southern part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, approximately 50 kilometers south-west of Karatu Town. The Lodge is made up of ten luxurious tents that can sleep two people each, as well as a large dining and reception area. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is located in Tanzania. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area includes large areas of highland plains, savanna, savanna woodlands, and forest areas.

The spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest caldera, was established in 1959 as a multiple land use area with wildlife coexisting with semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists practicing traditional livestock grazing. Because of the presence of globally threatened species, the density of wildlife in the area, and the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, and other animals into the northern plains, the property is of global importance for biodiversity conservation. Comprehensive archeological evidence has also netted a long series of proof of human emergence and human-environment dynamics, including 3.6 million-year-old hominid footprints.
